In my opinion, Brightest Day was alright. Nothing more, nothing less. Much like Flashpoint in that aspect, but I'll write about that some other time. Anyway, it was pretty good. Hal finally DID something that gave him character- he got the White Ring. I have two story ideas going from the point that Sinestro received the ring. The first one- after Hal receives the ring, Sinestro is given the GL ring. When Hal puts the ring on, he stands for a moment, then shoots off into space. About 2 months go by (in real time) with no word of Hal. So, 2 months after his mysterious disappearance, a new book comes out: White Lantern. Hal headlines this book, and it is his adventures purging the universe of the Black Light. He sporadically appears in other comics at times, and comes back to Earth once in a while. This would make him be like he was when he was the Spectre. The second idea is essentially the same, but Sinestro becomes the White Lantern and Hal continues to headline Green Lantern.
